Tapping seems slightly odd the first time you encounter it, but I can tell you it has helped me and my patients with anxiety, pain, insomnia, worry, and a myriad of other issues.
The Tapping Solution (thetappingsolution.com) defines tapping as: “A combination of Ancient Chinese Acupressure and Modern Psychology that works to physically alter your brain, energy system and body all at once. The practice consists of tapping with your fingertips on specific meridian points while talking through traumatic memories and a wide range of emotions.” So it incorporates some acupuncture theory along with positive self-talk, which is probably why I gravitated towards it as an acupuncturist. I personally tap in the morning and the evening, and whenever I feel the need throughout the day.
My favorite videos to follow along with are those created by Brad Yates on Youtube. His voice and demeanor are so positive and soothing, and the sessions are very effective for most people who have tried them. You can explore his whole channel here: Brad Yates Tapping.
